I have a fire stick with the stock amazon batteries when I tried to put in brand new non amazon branded batteries it doesn’t work, I put the amazon ones back in and it works fine, does anyone else use different batteries for the fire stick

I've replaced the batteries in my Fire Box remote with generic rechargeables. It was a little I'd in that the batteries were supposed to be loaded the same way instead of opposite was like most other devices.

Measure both sets of batteries with a volt meter. If its AA or AAA, it should be 1.5V.

I’ll check it and see the voltage, I’m using the old batteries right now I just get an error saying the batteries are to low

A quick Google search reveals others with similar issues, not with branded batteries, but unjustified "low battery" messages and a battery drain issue. You could just have a faulty remote.

Battery chemistry difference? Ni-CA, Ni-mh, Li, etc..

I use Ni-mh in mine all the time. Enloop I think.

Sorry for the late response I ended up buying another fire stick for the time being, I’m using the old batteries in the old remote which is still working, when I tested the new batteries the voltage was lower then usual, gotta love prime day ?
