Welcome to the all new KITAs forums. I hope you will like and use this new resource which was created in the wake of the Google+ shutdown for all the KITAs (and anyone who shares our geeky tech interests). As you can see, not only have I rescued the Know How Google+ Group posts, comments and images, but I have also converted the Coding 101, All About Android and This is TWiT groups as an added bonus. In total there are 10,186 users who have created 39,272 posts which in turn contain a further 75,054 comments. That is a total of 114,326 pieces of content - and that is not including the images. There will be some performance, design and feature improvements over the next few weeks as I see exactly how the KITAs use the site. Can I remind you that this site is a family and work friendly zone so you must adhere to our guidelines at all times. Reclaim Your Content If you were previously a member of any of the google plus groups then you should find all your content in our archived forums. You can "reclaim" this content if you want - just contact me and I'll add it to your new forum account. That way you will get all of your posts attributed to your post count total and be assigned your correct rank. What is NOT Available Some data was not practical or possible for me to convert over from Google+ but none of the "missing" data is vital or in some cases even desirable - Avatars User email addresses and any other personal information (I would not have included this anyway) Date of when the user registered on Google+ +1's Polls A tiny amount of images were not available to archive as the user had either removed them, or the service they used to host them was not working. Padre's Discord Can I remind you all if you are not already aware that Fr Robert Ballecer, SJ has created a fantastic Discord that I would encourage you all to join as it is a superb place to have a live chat with other like-minded KITA's https://discord.gg/gv5dSk3 This website is intended to complement Padre's Discord so please remember to check in to both. Newsletter On the main forums page in the sidebar is a green button to join our newsletter. Please click this so that you will receive important news via email. I promise that this will be used sparingly and responsibly so you will not get annoyed. Forum Features Some features you may want to be aware of:- There is an inbuilt messaging system so you can talk to staff or one another without it being in the forums for everyone to see. If security is important to you then you can use 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) via your Account Settings > Account Security. Once setup, you can use Google Authenticator or something like Authy to handle logging in with 2FA. NOTE : you will need to re-enter your password to access this area even if you are already logged in - this is for added account security. Also, I have created a custom dark theme for the forums which may get a few tweaks in the future so if you see something weird and out-of-place then let me know and I'll look into it. If you prefer a light theme then you can select it at the bottom of each page. There is a Questions and Answers forum which differs from the other forums as is has a vote up and down system to find the best answers to a simple question. You can customise your profile page to reflect your personality or interests (within reason). Twitter I will also take this opportunity to remind you that this website does have a twitter account @kitas_tv which will keep you up to date with the site and any interesting content.
