After reverting my previous phone (Nexus 5) from Lollipop back to KitKat, I'm now using an LG G4 with Lollipop again (5.1). I honestly see nothing in Lollipop that is an improvement over KitKat.  Am I alone in thinking this way?

I prefer the older notifications, lock screen, and app switching. And I use Apex launcher, so I don't particularly care for the stock Android launcher (either version).  I hate the fact that the phone puts up an annoying warning everytime I switch to airplane mode, and also that it resets the volume level (and gives another annoying warning) whenever I plug in headphones or a tape adapter (which I do many times a day, as my job involves lots of getting in and out of my car).

I'm eager to root my G4 and possibly roll back to KitKat (or possibly Cyanogen), but I don't want to void the warranty, or more importantly, lose access to the new and imrpoved camera features. I don't use the LG home screen, QSlide apps, or other LG apps, other than the IR Remote.

Am I missing something?  What is really so great about Lollipop?

I'm also meh on it - sort of. There are some cool features like unlocking with trusted devices. You may want to try rooting and installing Xposed to see if there are any ways to quell the annoyances.
