How embarrassing would it be if the Nokia phone running Android outsells the windows phone?

I agree that it's somewhat behind the curve compared to stellar affordable Android phones like the Moto G, Xiaomi Redmi/Hongmi and the stuff other companies announced at CES and MWC. However, the smartphone late adopters that these phones are designed to cater to, might not even realize that. I think most of them would see the X phones as decent first smartphone that cost a little more than Asha feature phones and less than their minimum wage. Another potential selling point Nokia Store's carrier billing agreement in the emerging markets. That could be a crucial differentiator as in places like India and Indonesia, PlayStore users can only pay using a credit card account.

With the X phones, high school and uni students as well as blue collar workers can make in app purchases for their Candy Crush addiction. This is one advantage that some have forgotten to mention when they talk about these phones.

With that said, I think these graduates from these phones will be more likely to upgrade to better Android phones than Windows Phones in the future. ?

More amusing is this concept.  MS gets royalties from every phone manufacturer that users Android.  So much so that they actually make more money on Android than Google does.  Considering they now own Nokia, there would be no royalty money coming in for any Android phones sold from Nokia.
