G+_Tom Wiswell
I have a Nexus9, and I would like to be able to send and receive texts on it. Ideally it would somehow sink with my phone. Is there an ap for that?
G+_David Babcock
Without knowing more about your situation I suggest looking into Google Voice. It can do exactly that via the Hangouts app although you may have to put up with a different phone number.

G+_Dawnetta Charmaine
Tablet Talk would be the way to go if you want to text to/from your carrier number. Obviously, Google voice is an option as long as everyone that texts you has and is willing to use a new/different number. The thing I like about Tablet Talk is that you don't necessarily have to be connected to wifi in order for your texts to come through. It'll connect to your phone via bluetooth or wifi. I've used it for a few years now.
